The ‘Brotherhood’ riding habit is a typical Rococo uniform riding habit. It comes in no less than 29 colors!

As already mentioned (and visible in the pictures above!) the dress comes with several skirts – one for walking, and two for riding (sidesaddle- and astride for horses that attach to the pelvis, like the AKK horses).
Here’s an illustration of the items included:

This hair bases resource pack, too, is limited to 25 copies. It contains 14 photosourced male hairstyles in a PSD file, which all go seamless on the avatar mesh. This is, of course, perfect for hair and skin designers.

The pack costs L$ 10,000 and is available on Xstreet only - please read the entire listing for the license agreement which you will have to email me after your purchase. Also, there’s a free demo version available so you can take a look at what you get before buying the actual version.

In case you would like to see how I create my hairbases and skins, I have a video on Youtube showing the process in DeepPaint3D.

A friend of mine recently complained about the lack of quality shirts in SL - the designers told her that it’s ‘because of the SL mesh’ respectively because ‘it’s not worth to put more work into something so cheap’ – see her pictures of the shirts in question here and here.

That encouraged me to show that it’s indeed possible to make quality shirts for SL in relatively few time (actually the basic texturing of the shirt took me no more than maybe two hours – making the colors, which I always do on the texture, uploading, making SL clothing and taking snaps / making ads took a tad longer, though).

So here’s the start of my new line of basic clothing:

The shirts – as you can probably see in the second picture – come in no less than 23 colors, and each color comes on jacket-, shirt-, pants-, underpants- and undershirt layers. They’re L$80 each.
In case you’re wondering about the blue-grey shirt with the logos in the last picture – that is, actually, a freebie which is also available at my store, just because I have no problem to give a sample of the quality of my shirts out for free. Note that the freebie shirt is the ONLY one with the stamped logos; all other, non-free colors do NOT have those logos.

There is a catch with that freebie however – it’s some kind of mini hunt.
While all ‘for sale’ colors are currently available at the ‘Latest Releases’ wall of my store which can be found at http://slurl.com/secondlife/ZoHa%20Islands%20E/198/69/22, that freebie is hidden somewhere in my store, and my store is huge. So bring time to search for it. Also, I’ll hide it in a different location each day.
As to where you have to search it, as long as you’re on land that starts with ‘Wunderlich’s…” on that sim, it’s a good place to search for it It can be anywhere – in the skin store, one of the modern stores, the historical clothing stores, or somewhere between all those.
Here is a clue where it’s hidden today:

(And yes, this IS a clue, you just have to take a very careful look at that photo.)

Hope you like the start of the new line of Basics at Wunderlich’s!

By the way, one more thing, just to NOT confuse you. My inventory is growing too large. So the basic shirts (and everything that will follow) is not for sale by me (Naergilien Wunderlich) but by my alt (NaergilienWunderlich Mirror). I’m just mentioning that in case you inspect the vendors and smell a scam – it’s not

Best wishes,
Naergi

Juliet is a Renaissance / Medieval inspired gown which comes with a scripted headdress that changes the hair color on click (as to why the dress is neither authentic nor historical for either period, please read the end of this posting).

Here’s a better picture of the headdress:

And this is how the headdress works:

Juliet comes in no less than 19 colors, all of which are pictured here:

The Juliet dress with the scripted headdress / hair costs L$ 475 per color and is available at the ‘Latest Releases’ wall as well as in the ‘Elizabethan / Renaissance’ building of my Main Store; here is the SLURL: http://slurl.com/secondlife/ZoHa%20Islands%20E/198/69/22 - hope you like it!

As already mentioned above, the Juliet dress and headdress aren’t historically accurate.
Why am I writing this? For two reasons.
First, I know my stuff (which is historical clothing…) and second, Wunderlich’s is known on the grid as THE source for as-historically-accurate-as-SL-allows-clothing, so I don’t precisely want to ruin my reputation as such with a pretty but nevertheless not historically accurate gown.

Here’s WHY the Juliet is not historically accurate.

The lacings: Lacings existed, just that they were EITHER done on the sides OR on front/back – the Juliet dress has both. Also, it has X-lacings, while during Renaissance / Medieval, ladder- or spiral lacings would have been used.

The sleeves: They’re obviously sewn to the dress, are one piece from shoulder to wrist and have that pretty looking lacing on the side. None of which is, in combination, historical. In fact, if this were a Renaissance dress, the sleeves would be several pieces (“gauntlets”) which would be laced together.

The underdress fabric: Obviously a very (shabby) chic upholstery fabric. Pretty, but – not historically accurate.

The overall shape: It’s imitating an under- and overdress, but obviously, it is not – neither in SL nor in RL on the dress from which I photosourced the Juliet dress.

The headdress: So there’s this interesting, very Renaissance-looking golden hairnet, with that headband and the ear muffs. Looks authentic, right?
Uhmmm, no. Actually you’re mixing up a Renaissance hair net (which would have been worn without the headband and the ear muffs!), a 1980s aerobic headband (which, to my knowledge, was never paired with either the net nor the ear muffs…) and medieval cauls, a very special kind of headdress which actually HAD those “ear muffs” (which, historically, were called CAULS) – but it looked different since it was worn with veils and such.

For those reasons, I’ve put a disclaimer next to the Juliet dress in my store. See, the dress IS pretty. But it’s NOT historically accurate. At Wunderlich’s, I want to make sure that if people enter one of the period buildings, they can be sure to find clothing that’s accurate for the period(s) the building represents; hence the disclaimer.
Nevertheless I hope you STILL like the Juliet dress – if you’re not looking for authentic, historically accurate clothing, it’s not the worst choice, if I may say that

Best wishes,
N. Wunderlich

I’ve just released three new photorealistic dresses!

The ‘Velvet Chains’ dress:
It comes with two shirts (with sleeves and as a ‘corsage’), a babydoll flexi prim skirt for ‘modern’ wear, a doubled, long flexi prim skirt for Regency wear; a short single prim skirt for modern wear and several pairs of pants.

The babydoll skirt shown here is fully flexi, with no less than 40 prims. The chain is an extra flexi prim for added realism (see right picture).
This dress also comes with a doubled, long flexi skirt:

That long flexi prim skirt is actually doubled to prevent penetration of hips and legs. See this image for details:

I’m offering the ‘Velvet Chains’ dress in no less than 29 (twenty-nine!) colors; each of which is L$400 and comes with all skirt / pants options.

The ‘Angela’ dress (originally planned to be released on the 31st of July, as the picture says; but that, unfortunately, wasn’t possible):

Angela comes in 24 colors, of which ‘Wine’ is shown above. It comes with a long flexi skirt and a flexi shoulder scarf attachment. Each color is L$300.

Last not least, the ‘Draped Roses’ dress:

People who saw it on my Flickr stream before the release said that it looks ‘so J-Lo!’ *lol*!
This dress comes with the long flexi skirt shown here as well as with a short, single prim skirt. It can also be worn with included, matching ‘hot pants’. ‘Draped Roses’ is available in 24 colors at L$350 each.

All the new releases are available at the ‘Latest Releases’ wall of my Main Store; here is the SLURL: http://slurl.com/secondlife/ZoHa%20Islands%20E/198/69/22

Hope you like the new releases

Since I couldn’t release anything last week because of RL duties (even if I had planned to release two dresses), I have decided to toss in no less than THREE new releases for this week.

Here’s what will be coming to Wunderlich’s in the following days:

The ‘Angela’ dress (originally planned to be released on the 31st of July, as the picture says; but as I already said, that, unfortunately, wasn’t possible):

Angela will come in 24 colors, of which ‘Wine’ is shown above.

The ‘Draped Roses’ dress:

This dress comes with the long flexi skirt shown here as well as with a short, single prim skirt. It can also be worn with matching ‘hot pants’. ‘Draped Roses’ will be released in 23 colors.

Last not least, the ‘Velvet Chains’ dress:

The babydoll skirt shown here is fully flexi, with no less than 40 prims. The chain is an extra flexi prim for added realism (see right picture). This dress, just like the ‘Draped Roses’ dress, will also come with a single prim skirt and can also be worn with short pants. It will be released in 26 colors.

The three dresses will be released on Friday, 6th of August 2010, at Wunderlich’s. As soon as they are released, I will do another blog post.

Style notes: I’m wearing Wunderlich’s ‘Aneta’ skin with various makeups in several skin tones in all pictures. The hair is Jacinta by Truth in – gem. Dresses, as listed above, all upcoming at Wunderlich’s.

Hope you like the sneak peek

My latest release are the ‘Puzzle Skins’ – Skins with a seamless jigsaw puzzle overlay; some in solid colors, some with a gradient on them. Think 3D-Puzzle.

Each color pack is L$300 (fat packs with all 19 colors are L$3,000; free demos are, of course, also available) and contains four things:
First and second, the skin in the corresponding color – one with and one without a hairbase.
Third and fourth, two different Viewer 2.0 Alpha Layers which can (but don’t have to) be worn with the skins. When worn they’ll punch tiny spaces between the puzzle pieces. One of the alpha layers even converts the avatar’s teeth to ‘puzzle teeth’ (and the other doesn’t; that’s why they’re different).

The skins are available for male and female avatars.
Here are some of the available colors – clicking the images leads you to the corresponding Flickr page, where you can see a larger version:

After documenting the Victoria’s Secret catalogue Photoshop disaster, I had a weird idea. Since I mentioned in that blog posting that the pictures from the catalogue look so much like SL snapshots, I thought, well, why not reproduce those pictures in SecondLife? Idea was in my head, and it wanted out; so I just started.
I started by making skins that would befit the models. To create those, I used a skin resource pack of mine which I haven’t published yet.
Then, I photosourced some underwear – NOT from the Victoria’s Secret catalogue pictures, of course, but from some licensed resource photos I have.
Afterwards, I created a first pose for one of the pictures in Poser. Lots of trial and error here – if you ever created poses you’ll know that the hands of the avatar tend to disappear into the body (which basically has to do with avatar shaping).
Then, of course, I had to create an appropriate shape for my SL avatar. Oh and create a matching SL background because I wanted to photoshop as few as possible in the final shapshot.

Afterwards I went shopping, because frankly, if I would have created the hair as well, I would have spent more time than I wanted (which, at that point of time, were already ten hours on this fun project). I found hair that worked at ‘Truth’ – the ‘Megan’ hairstyle was almost what I needed, and it was mod, so I bought it, assumed the picture pose, and edited the hair so that it looked more like the one in the photo which I was trying to reproduce.
Plus, I bought a jacket, since I didn’t really want to photosource one. As I said, much time already spent. The jacket I found is by Cypher Ivory, called the ‘Yeti fur bolero’. The jacket, too, had to be edited so that it would fit the photo.

Then I could take my final snapshot, and edit that just a bit to add some more shadows and highlights. Well, just before I type my hands off, here’s the evolution of work I described above – with underwear, slighly changed / adjusted poses, skin, hair, etc. – all in all, eleven snapshots until I got it right; the last one is the final one, but not edited yet:

And here’s the final image edited a bit to make it match the original picture a bit more; side by side with the original image from the Victoria’s Secret catalogue. Unlike that catalogue picture, however, I’ve just added a few shadows and highlights to my snapshot:

Just to prove that I haven’t cheated, here’s another snapshot of that final image (without the facial expression) from a different angle in SL, which I haven’t edited:

This is the first picture I reproduced; I’ll reproduce the others as well, one per day. In case you’re wondering, my skin and underwear can be bought nowhere, they just exist in my inventory since I made them myself. Maybe, eventually, I’ll release them.
Hope you like my RL-SL Victoria’s Secret transformation; if you do, stay tuned for updates
